ON GRID SOLAR
In an on-grid solar system, the array of solar panel are connected with the solar inverter, which is connected to the grid through your electricity meter. The solar panel converts the sunlight into DC electricity. Inverter converts the DC power into an alternating current better known as AC power. AC power is the standard electrical current used for powering most home appliances and Industrial Machinery’s throughout the world.
During the day, if the solar system’s production exceeds the electrical needs, the excess electricity is automatically fed into the power grid via “Net-Metering”. When this occurs, you can observe the electrical meter spin backward.
At night or anytime Electricity is used more than the solar system is producing, the extra energy needed to power the appliances / Machinery is pulled from the grid as it normally would be. Whether the electricity is being drawn from the solar system or utility grid, your Appliances / Machinery performance will stay the same.
OFF GRID SOLAR
Off-grid systems work independently of the grid but have batteries which can store the solar power generated by the system. The system usually consists of solar panels, battery, charge controller, inverter, mounting structure and balance of systems. The panels produce enough sunlight during the day and use the excess power generated in the night.
These systems are self-sustaining and can provide power for critical loads in areas where a power grid is not available.
